WHITESHILL & RUSCOMBE PARISH COUNCIL

Speeding Survey update.

September 2011 Whiteshill and Ruscombe Parish Council have been given permission by Glos Highways to put up 8 signs promoting 20 is Plenty for a 6 month period.

Please see the Speeding Survey results that took place back in January 2011.

20 is Plenty Campaign

Gloucestershire Highways is now insisting the parish council remove the 20 is Plenty signs.  We are continuing to try and persuade Highways for a permanent 20mph zone.  Please see the WaRbler for further information in coming months.

The Parish Council has received Gloucestershire Highways' approval to put up 16 road signs within the parish saying "20 is plenty". Residents will also be receiving an A5 sticker with their WaRbler to reinforce the campaign. Please see the Summer 2009 WaRbler for further information.

The Parish Council held a Coffee Morning on Saturday 22nd September 2007 and invited local residents along to give their views on the traffic problems in the parish.

Here are just a few comments that were made by residents:

"Keep the parking on the main road, slows down the traffic"

"Prevent parking on the main road, allow traffic to flow"

"Hurry up and complete the A46 so we can get back to normal"

"20 mph zone around school crossing area"

"Install proper full width speed bumps in 4-6 places from Woodcutters to end of the Plain"

As you can see, some opposing views, and a balanced approach will be needed.  This is an ongoing project, please visit this website regularly and also read the WaRbler newsletter for further developments.
