Ring in any suspicious incidents via  the non-emergency tel no (0845-090-1234 or 101 - the new country-wide one) or 999 in event of a crime (or suspected one) taking place. As the clocks are due to go back it may be worth investing in timer lights, or resetting current ones – if the home looks ‘lived in’ it tends to deter would be burglars.
